Print is for life | Introducing my new photography store
They say that a gift of photography is a gift for life….
I’m going to ask you a question and I want you to be honest. How many times have you went back on your phone or hard drive and looked at old pictures? If you’re like me, not many. Now, can you remember the last time you flicked through an old photo album? It might have been one of your parents, grandparents, or maybe it was one you developed and printed yourself. What did it feel like?
We live in a world where everything has gone digital these days. Our favorite photos and videos are right in our pockets. We capture everything we do, from our baby’s first steps to a night out and the desert we had in this fancy restaurant the other night. Technology has enabled us to freeze time at will and be able to capture and share moments in a blink of an eye. But technology has also reduced our span of attention. We no longer spend time studying a subject and give it the more than 5 seconds that it deserves. There’s something about the physical world that makes art and photographs unique. The same reason why we still go to galleries and museums and hang art on our walls, even though everything exists online. We study the display, looking for patterns, flaws, and new perspectives. That’s the feeling I get when I’m gifted photos or print my own.
I recently decided to start selling some of my own work. I know that when it comes to print, attention to detail matters and the quality of the printer and paper is crucial. I partnered with a leading, global, print specialist to ensure the quality of the product is consistent. At the end of the day, I’m only selling a limited number of copies of each shot, so quality really matters to me, as when a photo is gone, it’s really gone.
My inventory is small. I don’t want to sell all of my content, and I also want to make it look and feel exclusive. Only the ones that I think are worth being printed in large formats, hang on a wall, and be displayed in a room will be available in my store. I will be refreshing the inventory with some of my latest additions, but only 9 will be up for sale at any given time.
If you’re not in the UK, don’t worry. Prints are developed in locations across North America, Europe, Oceania, and Asia, and can be posted virtually everywhere in the world. I limited the number of countries to start with, but if you don’t see your country of preference at checkout, feel free to drop me a line and we can arrange it.
My prints come without frames, so you can choose your own according to your taste and unique style. I am, however, happy to recommend frames if you want to drop me a line. Prints come in 3 sizes. The most common ones are 16x20 inch, 18x24 inch, and 24x36 inch.
A gift of photography is a gift for life, and print is the ultimate way to express this. So get a gift for your friends, family, or even yourself, and enjoy it for the rest of your life.
Till next time…
