The importance of exercising during the "CORONA PERIOD"
There’s no question about it. Thanks to a virus outbreak in late 2019 that turned into a global pandemic, in 2020 our lives have turned upside down. 2020 will forever remain the “Stay Home Year”. Without a doubt, staying home has had an impact on our overall health, as we tend to eat and drink a bit more than normal, out of pure boredom.
Exercising out once a day can certainly help, however for me, going for a lonely run is no fun. I’d rather workout at home and follow one of those exercise videos on YouTube. And it’d certainly be more fun if I made a video about it.
I’m definitely not a gym freak, nor am I someone who enjoys a good ol’ home exercise. I prefer sports and HIIT classes, to gyms and yoga, so working out at home doesn’t come naturally to me. Nevertheless, I wanted to put on the effort and try an online HIIT class. The exercises seemed pretty straight forward to me, if not easy, so I gave it a go one afternoon.
However, the way they looked in my head and the way they looked when I physically did them, was night and day. So I wanted to emphasise on this and capture it in my video. I wanted to capture how I thought I was performing, vs how I actually did. All rather comical.
My wife’s expression in the end, even though we filmed this scene a couple of times, was honest and not initially part of the plan. She literally walked in on me with that look on her face earlier that day. I just thought it might be an added bonus for the film.
Home exercising is certainly not for me. Filming is, however, and considering it took me over 2 hours to film footage for a 2-minute video thanks to constantly moving the camera and lights, it’s fair to say that filming counts as a form of exercise itself.
How do you keep active during the lockdown?
Till next time…
