Day 11: Street photography

Day 11: Street photography

One of the reasons I picked up this 30-day challenge was to discover the style of photography I like the most. Landscape, portrait, product, skyline? The choices are endless.

I got the answer I need when I got excited about the prospect of today’s challenge. This would be the third day in a row out on the streets capturing the surroundings. Couldn’t ask for more.

I wanted this to be different. I wanted to marry London’s old with the season’s colors. All I wanted to do is find a single location and try to capture it from different angles. I found this narrow street right in central London and spent more than 30 minutes shooting pictures from every possible angle.

I tried to play with the focal length, my aperture, angles and even white balance to create a more atmospheric setup. I also paid attention to my composition as I didn’t want it to be flat. So I tried shooting behind leaves, branches and anything I could find.

In the end, I am really happy with the result. I captured a number of great pictures that made it into Lightroom.

Since I had to pick one, I went for the above. I was lucky enough to have this group of people talking on the side of the street, providing more depth.
